The production design in 2014 The Grand Budapest Hotel is a different approach to investigating as the film itself is a parody. The production design plays a huge part in this film as it is, like High-Rise, a stylised film.
Annie Atkins was involved in the production design for this film and discusses with Emily Gosling in an It's Nice That article about her approach to the production design in this film. Her inspiration came from 1930s examples of design such as business cards and calling cards from fascists. In this film however, Atkins is aware of the referencing she is making and is making a pun of it. Atkins practice is clearly Hutcheon's parody in place. It is referencing 1930's right wing Europe.
The examples above are examples of work created by Atkins that demonstrates Hutcheon's parody. They reference such examples from 1930s Europe. Because of the subject matter and theme of the film it is aware in it's reference and the way it mocks these references.
